Many people have problems at some time in their lives,
with anything from difficult relationships, lack of self
esteem, wanting to quit smoking, weight problems, lack of
confidence, grief, bereavement or loss, phobias (dentists,
flying, dogs, or certain foods), anxiety and stress, to eating
disorders (bulimia, anorexia or binge eating) Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder, addiction or self harm.
I work on a face to face basis with clients from Swindon,
Cirencester, Marlborough, Tetbury, Wantage, Faringdon,
Highworth, Oxford, Cheltenham, Witney, Chippenham, Bristol and
surrounding areas in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Avon and
Oxfordshire, I use a combination of approaches to tailor
treatment to each and every client individually.
What can Hypnotherapy do for
me?
Hypnotherapy enables you to become very relaxed and
focussed on what I’m saying to you- rather like being on
“automatic pilot” when you’re driving, This allows access to
the subconscious mind, where old outdated patterns of behaviour
can be changed.
It can help you eliminate unwanted negative habits, like smoking or overeating, or it can improve your
ability to achieve your goals.
You can be reassured that you cannot be hypnotised unless
you want to be and you can't get "stuck" in hypnosis. You are
in control at all times, able to hear what I'm saying, you’re
simply just very relaxed and comfortable.
Hypnotherapy within Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive
Behaviour Therapy, will firstly lower your levels of
anxiety,
and secondly allow you to understand how your subconscious
has learned to wrongly interpret situations, with your
behaviour following accordingly. Old unwanted patterns of
behaviour that cause you to lose belief in yourself can be
changed and your confidence &
self esteem is
boosted. In fact, improving low self esteem is my speciality
and I’ve helped both men and women in all walks of life at
all ages with enormous success.
Usually your course of hypnotherapy will be completed
successfully within 6 sessions, one per week. However, the
Quit
Smoking, Driving Test, Exam Fears or Interview Nerves
therapies can be completed within one or two sessions.
At the end of a session people feel very relaxed, calm and
usually quite surprised at the length of time that has passed
while they've been in hypnosis.
What is Counselling or
Psychotherapy?
In counselling or psychotherapy sessions, we explore
various aspects of your life together and the feelings
connected with them, talking about things freely and openly in
a non-judgemental environment - which isn't always possible
with friends or family.
I offer four choices for individual therapy sessions,
each has advantages:
Face to face
counselling. In the face to face
sessions, especially where we may be using hypnotherapy, I
offer a free initial consultation which gives us the
opportunity to find out about each other, to see if we
think we can work together and to agree an initial plan of
how we want to progress, whether in a limited number of
sessions or a more open ended contract. This typically

Email
counselling is useful for those
unable to travel or who have other commitments. It will
not include a free consultation as it will be an exchange
of a single email and can remain relatively anonymous.
Prepayment is required via Paypal. Your email can be
created over a period of time and my reply will be sent
within 5 working days and is able to be read at your

Telephone
counselling: Calling to book a
telephone session will also include an initial brief free
consultation to understand the issue. This method is
useful in that it requires no travelling but allows a
two-way conversation over an hour ( pre-booked and prepaid

Chat
counselling via Yahoo Messenger.
Calling to book a chat session will include a brief free
consultation to understand the issue . This is an
interactive email dialogue in real time for one hour and
requires pre-booking and prepayment via Paypal. Please

In each case, no matter which method you choose, you are
free to identify and express your real feelings (like anger,
grief, anxiety) and to explore the issues that are causing you
stress. People come for counselling for a variety of different
reasons- which can all be helped by having someone to share
thoughts and feelings with.
In order to understand your feelings we may need to look at
the past and see where they originated and developed. I use an
integrative approach, combining Cognitive Behaviour, Client
Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Hypnotherapy to
suit you individually and together we can identify &
evaluate various ways to resolve your issues or problems. You
may also be able to intervene with recognised patterns of
behaviour and begin to change associated thoughts or feelings
which may have caused difficulties.
